Finding your way around the console

What is on the overview, where each kind of resource lives, and the shortcuts that save you clicks.

    The overview

console.pantechdynamics.com opens on Overview, a summary of the organization you are signed in to:

    • Running VMs, Compute spend, Idle spend and Uptime across the top.
    • Compute spend over time, against the period before it.
    • Needs attention: what you are paying for and not using, such as unattached volumes and stopped virtual machines. Both are still billed; see how billing works.
    • Your virtual machines, with their status, so the most common next click is one away.

    The sidebar

Resources are grouped the way the guides are:

    SectionHolds
ComputeVirtual machines, VM snapshots and SSH keys
NetworkVPCs, security groups and static IPs
    StorageVolumes, volume snapshots and databases
Team, Billing, Help & first stepAt the foot of the sidebar

Rows marked Soon (load balancers and object storage) are not available yet.

Your account menu, at the top, holds Profile, Organization, Notifications, a link to the status page, the light, dark and system themes, and Log out.

    Jump anywhere with ⌘K

Press ⌘K on a Mac, or Ctrl+K elsewhere, to open the command palette. Type part of a destination, like "volumes", "add funds" or "invite", and press Enter. It reaches every section and the pages under them, like Create VM or Payment methods.

Lists such as virtual machines and team members have a Filter menu. A filter you pick shows as a chip above the table; remove the chip to clear it. On virtual machines you can filter by status, size and image, and search by name.

Filters and the open tab are kept in the page address, so you can bookmark a filtered list or send a link to a teammate and they land on the same view. Back works the way you would expect.

    Pages keep themselves current

When something is changing, such as a machine booting, a snapshot being taken or a volume attaching, its page follows the change and updates without a reload. You can leave and come back; the work carries on either way.
